The Problem

Over 40% of produce from smallholder farmers in Ghana goes to waste because they lack direct access to urban consumers. Middlemen take large margins, and farmers have no digital presence.

The Solution

A mobile-first marketplace that connects farmers directly with buyers in Accra, Kumasi, and Tamale. Features real-time inventory, mobile money checkout via MTN MoMo, and a delivery logistics layer built on top of existing trotro networks.

The Transformation

Before Build_it

I was a fresh graduate with a business degree, struggling to find work. I had never written a line of code and thought tech was only for computer science graduates.

After Build_it

After completing the Digital Career programme, I built AfriHarvest as my outcome project. Three months later, the platform is processing 200+ orders per week. I was hired as a product associate at a fintech startup in Accra — they found me through Build_it Showcase.
